Re: Questions ablout Leapster and Leapster 2

Let me add to that: The older version of the Cars game (designed for Leapster Classic or Leapster TV) should display time on the Learning Path. We are currently fixing an issue that is preventing the Learning Path from displaying time on legacy Leapster games. Once we've got it fixed, I'll publish a full list of supported titles, along with the level of Learning Path data each can provide.

seatzie,

While the older version of the Cars game will work with the Leapster2 it will not upload play data to the Learning Path.

Re: Questions ablout Leapster and Leapster 2

just jumping in on this one, we have a leapster 2 but the leapster 1 version of Cars, the leapster 2 can't tell me how long my son has played it, achievements obtained, rewards etc, now I thought that was because it was a leapster 1 game and therefore a software issue but you seem to say it should be capable of this because its the leapster 2 hardware that does all the work?

so should all his Cars scores etc be showing up on the Learning Path?

Re: Questions ablout Leapster and Leapster 2

Hi blume92,

The old and new Leapster titles are cross-compatible between platforms. The difference is not in the software, it's in the hardware. The Leapster2 is connected to our Learning Path, so the new games "work better with Leapster2," but that also means that the old games work better with Leapster2 as well. Leapster2 logs and tracks your child's game play on the Learning Path and issues online rewards for learning achievement. The original Leapster cannot be connected to the Learning Path because it does not have a USB port, but if you buy a Leapster2 and use your old games, you'll still be able to take full advantage of the Learning Path and online rewards.

Hope this helps clarify the difference between the two systems.

Questions ablout Leapster and Leapster 2

Hi,

I have got a question about the Leapster and Leapster 2 games.

At the moment we have a „old“ Leapster (green/ silver) and I bought some time ago from eBay (used) Leapster games. What I would like to know is: Is there a difference between the „old“ Leapster games and the „new“ Leapster games that are sold for the Leapster 2 system?

We have: Bratz, School House Rock America/ Grammer, Finding Neme, Learn to draw and write, The Incredibles, Junie B. Jones, Sponge Bob Saves the Day which all say: c2003 or c2004 is there a difference between them and the new games that are sold at the moment in the stores?

Our newest games, that we bought a few days ago are for Leapster 2 and say „Works with all Leapsters, but works better with Leapster 2“ (Animal Genius and Math Missions). What would those games offer if I had a Leapster 2? Is it worth to buy a Leapster 2 and will the „old“ games (Bratz, School House Rock,...) also offer extras on the Leapster 2 and if yes, what will I be able to do?

Thanks

blume,
