For anyone that this may help. I have been able to copy from an existing document and then paste into the flash card by using the ctrl and v keys on the keyboard. This has helped me tremendously. I have yet to try a graphic image this way. But texts works just fine.

Well, for anyone that's actually interested, here's the response that I recently received from Leapfrog, regarding my request for software development information for the Crammer device:
Request for development options information for the Crammer device
Response (Lu-Ann D) 12/21/2009 03:14 PM
Thank you for your interest in LeapFrog. Because we are constantly exploring, researching and developing product ideas and concepts that may be used in future products, we cannot accept unsolicited ideas submitted by other companies or individuals.
We currently work with a small number of companies that assist us with external development of product concepts. These companies have significant technical experience producing and developing consumer electronics products, and in many cases, have worked with us for a number of years. In order to set forth the parameters of our working relationship with such external product development companies, we enter into standard development contracts with them.
If you would like to be considered as a company that works with LeapFrog in this manner, please submit your qualifications to:
LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc., 6401 Hollis Street, Emeryville, CA 94608, Attn: External Product Development. At a minimum, we would be looking for companies that have significant experience in software development, consumer electronics design and development, and interactive educational product development. Please do not submit any product concepts or ideas with your qualifications package-those items will be returned and your package will not be reviewed.
Thank you again for considering LeapFrog, and we wish you the best of luck in all of your endeavors.
A very efficient, crisp response, although it does leave me with the distinct impression that Leapfrog management is far more concerned with protecting their copyrights, than enabling end-users to develop their own serious software for the device, apart from the company's oversight. I understand that the Crammer device and operating system software are proprietary, and not at all 'open source,' but it seems a little silly to me for them to be so intensely protective of it, when they are obviously in the process of discontinuing the product altogether. Sigh...

If Leapfrog is not going to continue to support and develop the Crammer device and software, they should make some sort of software development kit available to those of us that would like to further the usefulness of this excellent device. The onboard storage memory of 1GB is enough to store a entire bookshelf of textual data (as well as audio), keeping in mind the rule-of-thumb that the entire King James Bible can fit into ~4MB (with compression, it can be squeezed onto a 1.44MB floppy disk). Anyway, yes, I also feel that this is a not fully realized gem of a device, and I have not even received my order yet. Anyone that is actively involved in finding information for Crammer development options, please feel free to contact me...

Yes, I totally agree with you, especially now that many retailers and also eBay are offering the units at a drastically reduced pricepoint. Hopefully, the hacker community will see the potential of this wonderful little unit, and create some alternate operating systems and applications for it.

Im wondering also why the crammer has no way to make your own quizzes and the flash card part is lame at best. Not even a cut and paste for Text or the ability to put in a simple graghic!!!??? This thing could be a dream, but its like Leap Frog had a Great Idea then droped the ball and lost interest in the product. And spanish only? I hope they open it up with some better interfaces so we can all share and edit content . Its a great simple product that could be for more then tweens, but for lack of some code and a good interface. I love it, but more for what it could be (on the software side) then what it is limited to for now.

I would also be interested in developing some content for the Crammer. Seems it would benefit Leap Frog to have more free content available for their products. Anything you can pass along about format and pushing it to the device would be much appreciated.

OK, realize that the download content is just a zip file with pretty straightforward file structure and XML.
Is there anything to be concerned about with the id fields in the XML?
Are there specific ranges that I should avoid, or are their checks somewhere in the firmware for this numbering?
Any enforced naming conventions on quiz filenames or BMPs?
What BMP or WAV constraints should I know about?
When construction my own CRMR lfp archive, anything special that needs to be there to get the Connect app to recognize it and push it to the Crammer?
Thanks

Since we aren't seeing the subjects or content that we need for our 3rd grader through the Connect application, where may we find the file format necessary to create our own quizes for the Crammer?
I am capable of doing my own development, just need to know the format or processes for getting our own stuff on the Crammer.
I do know that you can create flash cards through the Crammer application, but it seems to be pretty buggy, and I would like to not have to manually type all the information in though the application interface.
We need multiplication tables and multiple choice information that's not available through the downloads in the app.
Thanks
